Sarah Louise Rist, 46, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley, Missouri, with service following at 2:00 p.m.
Sarah was born on September 24, 1979, in Independence, Missouri, to Terry Lee Mallett and Janet Loraine Ford. She was preceded in death by her parents and her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Mallet.
Sarah was well known for her compassion, wearing her heart out on her sleeve and all-around old soul that was fierce and tough as nails. She was a wife who shared thirty-three beautiful years with her high school sweetheart, Patrick Rist Sr. They worked hard alongside to build a life and family she was profoundly proud of. She was deeply devoted to God all while being a member of Abundant Life Church, as well as treasuring the time she spent on earth with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her presence brought a ray of sunshine to those who loved her, something that will never be forgotten. Her passing has left a void in our hearts, but we find comfort in knowing that her light and love will forever guide us. We ask that you remember her for her loving spirit and warmth that she shared.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Patrick Rist Sr., of the home; her two sons, Patrick Rist Jr. (Victoria Morrow) and Christain Rist, both of Independence; and her five beloved grandchildren: Patrick III, Kobe, Sonny, Paris Louise, and Evalette. She is also survived by her three sisters, Tammy Mallet of Oak Grove, Missouri; Jennifer Mallet of Kansas City, Missouri; and Heather Nyhart of Sugar Creek, Missouri.
Sarah will be remembered for the love she held for her family, the devotion she showed to her children and grandchildren, and the bonds she shared with her sisters. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
