Charles W. Goodman


On Wednesday December 31st, 2025, Charles W. Goodman, 84, of Grain Valley, MO. transitioned from this world to a much better place.

We are confident he was greeted and received by his parents and siblings gone before him as well as his son Bradley.

From a very young age Charles was always on the go! When he wasn’t working, he was enjoying being an outdoorsman, fishing crappie each spring at Truman Lake with just about every member of his family and numerous friends. He loved Truman Lake so much that he and his wife, Virginia, decided to build their retirement home in the area. Many fish and deer were harvested by Charles, his son, grandson and brother-in-law and a whole lot of fish stories too!

He also enjoyed hunting Morel Mushrooms, Ducks, Geese, Pheasant, Quail, Turkey and clay pigeons. Charles held Membership’s in Duck’s Unlimited and the NRA.

Charles also held 58 years membership and was a Master Mason as of October 1967 of the East Gate No. 630 Lodge, Grand Lodge of Missouri Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

Charles was employed and retired from Lake City Ammunition Plant – Olin Corporation. At the age of 55, Charles was the Owner/Operator of Jacomo Fence Company for over 20 years until he retired, and his Son took it over and rebranded the company to Goodman Fence.

Charles and Virginia Goodman celebrated 65 years of marriage June 1, 2025, Charles loved Virginia more than anything on earth. Every day he would say she was the Love of his life. There were a few others that were near and dear to his heart his grandchildren Johnathon (Sarah) and Taylor (Josef) and his great grandchildren Olivia and Eleanor. They all meant the world to him. A lot of great memories were made with his “little hunting and fishing buddy” and his “little sugar”.

Charles is survived by his wife, Virginia A. Goodman Grain Valley, MO. His daughter, Tracy Goodman, Grain Valley, MO. His Grandson Johnathon and wife (Sarah) Wayne Stubbs, Houston, TX. His granddaughter Taylor and Husband (Josef) Hesse, and great granddaughters Olivia Margaret Hesse and Eleanor Katherine Hesse of Wildwood, MO.

His sister-in-Law and husband Jackie & Michael Williams, Bates City, MO. Brother-in-law and wife William & Ellen Hein, William Jacob Hein all of Lee’s Summit, MO.

As well as many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his son, Bradley Wayne Goodman. His Mother, Helen Elizabeth Wyatt, his father, Valentine Henry Goodman. Siblings Dorothy Jane, Donald Eugene. Patty & (Marvin) Roberts, Jean Ann & (Jack) Cox, Velma & (Covey) Stockton, Bert & (Delores) Goodman, Ralph & (Jackie) Goodman.
