Dorothy M. Webb


Dorothy Maxine (Branson) Webb passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 83.  Dorothy was born July 13, 1942, to Chester Sherman and Georgia Margaret (Gardner) Branson in Hamburg, IA. She was a graduate of Raytown High School in 1960 and worked at Wilson’s Sporting Goods early in life.  She spent many years doing childcare out of her home, but the most rewarding job came later at Dog Eared Books.

She was deeply loved by her family and her care givers at Odessa Healthcare Skilled Nursing Center of Odessa.

She was known for her quick wit, sense of humor and large knowledge of information, her love of sports, particularly Chiefs Football and Royals Baseball. She loved camping and fishing with her family and friends over the years, especially at Roaring River State Park.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Chester and Georgia Branson, husband Forrest Webb, sisters Carolyn Sutherland, Diana (Kay) Duley. She shared 49 years of marriage with her husband and even after he passed, she carried his memory every day.  Not a day went by, she didn’t talk about him.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Webb of Kearney and Crystal (And Wild Thing) Forkner of Odessa. 2 Grandchildren, Kayli Morris (Rogue) of Buckner, MO.  Jackson (Brandy) Forkner of El Dorado Springs, MO. And 7 Great Grandchildren Abby, Jackson, Kolton, Kasen, Kamden, Karsynn, Forrest. Her sister Shirley Branson (the baby) of Bolivar, MO and many nieces and nephews and family members.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 23, 2026, at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, MO. Burial in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 P.M., prior to the service in Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home Chapel.
