John Clark Anderson, 62, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on April 27, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and businessman, John leaves behind a legacy of hard work, community service, and a deep love for his family.
Born on November 18, 1963, in Reseda, California, John moved with his family to Kansas City in 1971. He attended Messiah Lutheran Grade School and was a proud 1982 graduate of William Chrisman High School. In 1988, John married the love of his life, Laura. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and their shared passion for the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.
In 1994, John turned his creative vision into a career by founding Anderson & Sons Landscaping. For over three decades, he poured his heart into designing landscapes, planting trees, and crafting everything from serene waterfalls to intricate patios. His work was more than a business; it was a way of bringing beauty to the world around him.
John’s greatest joy, however, was found on the baseball diamond. For over 28 years, he was a fixture of Blue Springs Baseball, serving as a coach, Equipment Manager, Division Representative, and Groundskeeper. He cherished the time spent coaching his sons and, eventually, his grandsons, mentoring thousands of young athletes and their families along the way. When he wasn’t on the field, John could be found playing his guitar or sharing stories and jokes around a campfire with friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Orris Rudolph and Betty Jean Anderson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; his son Andy and wife Emma; his son Dylan; and his cherished grandsons, Wesley, Preston, and Archer, all of Blue Springs. His sister, Mary Graham and husband Richard Brown, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Larry and Peggy Gann, of Grain Valley, Missouri; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Larry and Wendy Gann, of Independence, Missouri. He is also survived by niece Nicole and husband Shawn and nephew Jared, of Colorado; nephews BJ, Chad, and Caden, of Missouri.
