
Keith Paul Borland passed away on May 22, 2026. His battle with cancer is over and he has gone to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Keith was born in Kansas City, MO on May 12,1948 to Lyle and Wilma Borland. When he was three years old, his parents moved to Oak Grove, MO. He lived at that location until he joined the Navy after high school. He spent four years in the Navy, most of it aboard the Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA 42 aircraft carrier. After his time in the Navy, Keith worked for Missouri Public Service as a machine operator for 26 years until he retired. After he retired, Keith worked with his brother, Brice, in the foundation repair business and with Harold Walters Engineering.
Keith loved working on all kinds of engines and any kind of shop project he had going on. He rebuilt cars, trucks, tractors and the list could go on and on. He was always welding and repairing machinery for himself and others. He enjoyed going to steam engine shows and working on steam engines with his son, Trent. He enjoyed flying his 1947 Aeronca Champ airplane.
Keith deeply loved his family and spending time with them. He loved traveling to various states with his wife, Cindy. One of their favorite trips was to see the Redwoods and the Sequoias. He also loved antiquing with his daughter, Mandy and working in the shop with his son Trent. He always enjoyed his annual trout fishing trip to Beaver Lake with his brother Brice and his son Trent.
He faithfully supported his grandchildren by attending all their sporting events and school functions. He also loved going and supporting Sporting KC with his son and granddaughter.
Keith was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, MO, and he loved his church family and especially his Sunday School class.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Owings Borland, his mother, Wilma Helen Fawcett Borland, his brother Craig Allen Borland, his son Trent Alan Borland, his niece Kimberley Ellen Borland and also his father-in-law John E. Keck.
Keith leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Cindy Keck Borland, daughter, Amanda Linn Borland Griggs (Steven); daughter-in-law, Stephanie Borland; brother, Brice Lyle Borland (Pat); sister, Rebecca Ellen Borland Gurney (Bob); granddaughters, Devin Frickert (Alex), Megan Borland, Makayla Hipsher (Gabe); grandson, Tanner Fleming (Isabel); great-grandchildren, Ruby, Aurora, and Hank, mother-in-law Mary Ellen Keck and many other family members and friends.
He will be missed by his high school classmates of his 1966 graduating class.
He will be greatly missed by all.
