
William “Bill” Reynolds, 80, of Peculiar, MO, passed away on May 15, 2026, at Kansas City Hospice House with his wife and daughters by his side.
Bill was born in Grain Valley, MO, on June 17, 1945, to Emmet Floyd and Edna Mae (Williams) Reynolds. He attended Odessa High School before joining the Navy in 1962. After his service, he married Sharon Kay Milligan of Oak Grove, MO, on December 16, 1966. Bill worked as a Kansas City police officer for many years. Following that, he had a career in HVAC, retiring from AFC Heating and Cooling in 2010. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, puttering around in his wood shop, and searching for treasures while metal detecting. He could often be found with a worn-out paperback book in hand and a stack of westerns or military books on his nightstand.
Bill was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, Floyd and Edna, brothers: James Reynolds and John Reynolds, and sisters: Deloris Kirk and Shirley Kirk.
His survivors include his wife of 60 years Sharon; daughters: Traci Reynolds and Jennifer Blomquist (Johnny); brothers: Darrell Reynolds (Alisha), Charles Reynolds, and Monty Sorden (Linda); 5 grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, Presley, Jarrett, and Jestin; and 3 great-grandchildren: Michael, Arthur, and Maevyn.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO. Cremation. Interment at concord Cemetery in Bates City, MO, will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House or the Alzheimer’s Association.
