Joyce Marie Deskins, 79, of Independence, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 13, 2026. A graveside service will be held at New Salem Cemetery in Independence, Missouri, on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
Joyce was a woman of simple joys and deep devotion to those she loved. A lifelong dog lover, she cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Shadow, for many years. She especially enjoyed listening to her son, Troy, play the guitar. In her younger years, Joyce found pleasure in crocheting and creating handmade items for family and friends. Originally from West Virginia, Joyce and her husband shared a connection to their home state throughout their lives. She was of the Baptist faith.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Deskins; her son, Troy Deskins; and her brothers, Burley Snodgrass Jr., Danny Snodgrass, and Freddie Snodgrass.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Deskins; her niece, Marsha Adamson and husband Todd; and her great-nephews, Neal and Hunter Adamson.
