It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Burrell Thomas Lamb Jr. (Corky), who passed away on 7/2/26 at the age of 85 in Independence, MO surrounded by his family.
Corky was born on 5/10/41 in Warrensburg, MO to Burrell and Geraldine (Jerry) Lamb. He grew up in Odessa, MO and graduated from Odessa High School. Corky served in the Army in communications and became a drill instructor for 8 years 8 months and 28 days as he would always say. He married his wife of almost 40 years on 12/28/85. He worked at Ford Motor Company and after 23 years of work he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his wife Donna Lamb of over 40 years.
Corky was passionate about the lake life, traveling, playing pool, Kansas City Chiefs (not watching them he was very superstitious). He will be remembered for his love of the Chiefs, playing keno and most of all his love for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren (Lil’ Bambinos).
Corky is survived by his spouse Donna Lamb, Children Darrin Lamb (Rebekah), Johnny Lamb, Don Mattonen (Laak), Grandchildren Dustin Lamb (Natalie), Baylee Ayala (Ricky), Angelica Lamb (Amanda), Jordan Lamb, Dana Lee Beattie, Rebecca Ann Beattie, Great Grand Children Easton Cordray, Raylyn Lamb, and Eleanor Ayala, sister Tammy Cummins, and Nephew Michael Oakes (Megan), Great nephew and nieces Gage Schaal-Oakes, Kassidy Oakes and Cadence Oakes. Along with an abundance of friends and family.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents Burrell and Jerry Lamb, sister Carole (Katie) Lamb, Brother-in-Law Stephen Cummins.
A celebration of life will be held on 7/10/26 at 1:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home (Independence location). Family and friends are invited to attend and asked that you wear your Chiefs attire or Chiefs colors. Immediately following there will be a motorcade to Higginsville for a Military Service.
