
Jackie Lee Gross, 85, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026. Services will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Oak Grove on Friday, July 17th, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and memorial service at 12:00 p.m., followed by the committal service at 2:00 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
Jackie was born July 31, 1940, in Rumsey, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Mable (Rightmyer) Gross. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran retiring after 20 years of service. Jackie was an electrician, retiring in 2000 from Independence Power & Light. He was an avid Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed playing golf, going to the casino, going to Las Vegas, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jackie’s survivors include his wife, Sherry Gross of the home; three children: Michael Gross (Mickie) of Oak Grove, Suzanne Shipman (Kevin) of Bates City, and Jeremy Davis (Reannin) of Oak Grove; six grandchildren: Monica Fortner (Zach) of Oak Grove, Kelly Snelling of Sugar Creek, MO, Timmy Zeller (Shelby) of Stover, MO, Raichal Green (Tyler) of Bates City, Kathleen Combs (Luciano) of Oak Grove, and Jonas Davis of Oak Grove; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Gross (Pam) of Wimberley, TX, and Bill Gross of Nashville, TN; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers, and a sister.
