
Glen Thomas, age 98, of Independence, Missouri passed away June 30, 2026, at the Veteran’s Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. Glen was born in Prim, Arkansas on November 25, 1927, to Louis Bivin Thomas and Addie Lewellen Thomas.
He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Independence Missouri. Glen served his country in the United States Army from April 1952 to May 1954 during the Korean War. He married Nedra Bernice Stark on April 6, 1951. Glen retired from Armco Steel and in retirement enjoyed cutting wood, raising cattle, and planting a big garden to share with everyone he knew.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Bivin and Addie Thomas, his wife of 59 years, Nedra Stark Thomas one son, Russell “Rusty” Dale Thomas, one grandson, Jeffery Don Thomas, two sisters, Mary Carlton, and Wanda Carlton, and brothers; Bill, Bob, Roger, and Jim.
He is survived by two sisters, Lois Hipp and Joyce Hipp of Prim, Arkansas, two sons, Doug Thomas of Independence, Missouri and Mike (Darlene) Thomas of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, four grandchildren: Jessie Thompson, Crystal Jinkins, Trisha Madden, Kayla Thomas, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephew.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery, in Greers Ferry, Arkansas.
