Karlann Ruth Jons, 87, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at her home in Blue Springs, Missouri. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove in Oak Grove, MO, on Saturday, July 18th, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial at 12:00 p.m.
Karlann was born July 27, 1938, in Blue Springs, MO, the daughter of Bernard and Juanita Hentschel. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and Julia Child. Karlann was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, where she loved teaching children in Sunday School and was in the choir.
Karlann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and her brother, Dan Hentschel. She is survived by her sister, Linda Westerlund of the St. Louis, MO area; her son Kelly Jons (Amy) of Chardon, OH, daughter Kathryn McKee (David) of Kansas City, MO, son Kenneth Jons of Hawaii, son Kurt Jons (Tina) of Oak Grove, MO; nine grandchildren: Jullianne, Jessica, Theo, Charlotte, Austin, Grant, Jake, Zach, and Sophie; and several great-grandchildren.
