E. Maxine Newberry


Etta Maxine Newberry who many knew her as “Maxine” Etta Newberry, 76, of Lexington, MO passed away on July 18th, 2026 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral/Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on July 24th, 2026 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral home, 1823 N. Blue Mills Rd, Independence, MO 64058, burial/laying to rest final destination will be held at Highlandville, MO, cemetery date to be determined. The family will be contacted. Maxine Newberry was born on May 20th, 1950 in Bigfork Minnesota the daughter of Mother Etta Grace Mitchell and Father David Merle Wolfe. Maxine grew up in Bigfork Minnesota. She attended Davis High School. Maxine took love in her past career of waitressing at Furr’s Cafe, Perkins and Golden Corral. Maxine would tell us right now her full-time job in life was focused on being a successful wife, mother, grandma/nanny, and family member/friend. Maxine loved farm life, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and her love for horses gave her so much peace attending to all her horses’ needs. Most importantly the family was always Maxine’s first priority.

Maxine was preceded in death by late husband Paul Dennis Newberry, Mother/Etta Grace Mitchell, Father/David Merle Wolfe, Sister/Muriel Grace Lakey, Brother/Charles Edward Wolfe.

Her survivors include brother Wayne & sister in-law Lynn Wolfe, brother Larry Wolfe,
