Elizabeth Ann Bumgardner, 60, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Locks of Love.
Betty was born February 13, 1957, in Ft. Riley, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Fernanda (Claister) Stringfield. She was a paraprofessional, working in the Kansas City School District. Elizabeth was member of Eastern Star and of First Presbyterian Church in Independence, where she recently became a Deacon. She admired the work of Locks of Love and donated her hair to them several times a year.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include son, Matthew Bumgardner (Heather) of Independence; daughter, Tiffany Scheffler (Jason) of Warwick, RI; grandchildren: Lucas & Henley Bumgardner;
two brothers: Doug Stringfield (Jeanne) of Omaha, NE, and Phil Stringfield of Independence; and sister, Vicky Larkin (Bob) of Independence.
