Cindy (Payne) Colley-Church, age 68, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her home in Independence, Missouri. Memorial services will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Whispering Meadows Clubhouse, 4455 S. Cindy was born December 23, 1947, the daughter of George and Fannie (Dowell) Payne. She enjoyed good food, a glass of wine and loved dining out. In her spare time, she watched action and sci-fi movies and was a proud “Trekkie”. She also loved to shop to fill her “treasure room.” Most of all, she loved her family.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Frederick Church of Independence; daughter, Melissa A Colley-Nelson of Warrensburg, MO; granddaughter, Carissa A. (husband Scott) Casida; two great-granddaughters, Grace Ann and Holly of Greenwood, MO; grandson, Clayton Nelson of Raytown, MO; brother, Lloyd (wife Carole) Payne of Trenton, MO; sister-in-law, Ruth Payne of Independence; brother-in-law, Gordon Downs of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Delores Spears and Loretta Downs; and two brothers, Hermal and Harl Payne.
