Matthew Alan Cox, 19, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in Kansas City, MO. Private Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO.
Matthew was born on June 10, 2000 in Kansas City, KS, the son of Curtis and Michelle Cox. He was a loving, caring person who always had a smile on his face with a loud contagious laugh. Matthew strived to help others no matter the circumstance and would bend over backwards to help his friends and family. He played varsity football at J.C. Harmon where he attended high school. Matthew liked
being at the studio because music was his passion. He was a successful roofer for Premier Contracting Inc.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Curtis and Michelle Cox; two sisters, Terri Cox and Amber Cox (Nicole Knapp); five brothers: Steven Cox (Julie Cox), Dakota Cox, Zander Cox, Jonathan Cox, and Nikolas Cox; four nephews: Hunter, Anthony, Jace, and Lucas; grandparents, Harry and Linda Cox; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Warren Allen Grove Jr. and Dalene Evelyn Buffington; paternal grandmother, Donna Lou Cox; aunt, Diana Lynn West; and best friend (brother) Angelito Xavier Espinoza.
