
Robert J. Craig, 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, in his residence at Parkland Senior Living in Blue Springs, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Bob was born July 25, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan to parents, Minnie (Coulter) Craig and Robert L. Craig. He was preceded in death by beloved wife, Blanca (Sosa) Craig and adult children, Robert Craig and Jacqueline Craig. He is survived locally by daughter, Victoria (Vikki) Johnson and husband, John; grandchildren, Cindy Simmermon and Robby Johnson (Cheryl); and five great-grandchildren. He is survived in Mexico City by daughter-in-law, Laurie Craig; grandsons, Bobby Craig (Nelia) and David Craig (Regina); and five great-grandchildren.
Prior to retiring and moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 2004, Bob resided in Clearwater, Florida where he founded Envios Hidalgo, a money transfer business for immigrants with family in Hidalgo, Mexico. Bob lived in Mexico City, Mexico following his service in WWII, and married and reared his children there with intermittent residence in the U.S. Bob loved Mexico, the tango, and mariachi music which was shared with friends at annual birthday celebrations. He was a member of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church.
