Bettie Joyce Davis, 90, of Sibley, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO; burial in Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Bettie was born August 3, 1926 in Yuma, Colorado the daughter of Relvia and Myrtle (nee: James) Keller. As a homemaker her primary focus was on her family and Sunday dinners. She loved to bake cookies, pies and made the best pickles ever. Bettie spent time gardening canning, traveling, fishing and crocheting. As a seamstress she made clothes for her family including her daughter’s wedding dresses.
Bettie is survived by 2 daughters: Joyce (husband Kirk) Phillips of Sibley MO and Kathy (husband Dwain) Kruse of Blue Springs MO. 3 grandchildren: Sheila (husband Josh) Salmond of Lee’s Summit MO, Kevin Morris of Highlands Ranch CO and Josh Phillips of Sibley MO. 4 great grandchildren: Sam Morris of Knob Noster, MO, Mason, Lily and Adalyn Salmond all of Lee’s Summit Mo.
Bettie was preceded by her parents, her husband Joe E Davis on December 7, 2002. And 3 Brothers: Vernon, Thomas and Rollin Keller.
