Charles Wayne Dennis, 74, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Bates City Cemetery.
Charles was born December 21, 1944, in Bates City, Missouri, the son of Oscar G. and Birdie (Rudd) Dennis. He was a steelworker and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandkids. He was very devoted to his wife before her passing.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gail Dennis; grandson, Ryan Hicks; and two brothers, James and Donald Dennis.
His survivors include three children: Darin Dennis of Lebanon, IL, Steven Dennis of Blue Springs, MO, and Julie Hicks (Richard) of Bates City, MO; three grandchildren: Courtney Smart (Nathan) of New Baden, IL, Jacob and Katelynn Dennis of Lebanon , IL; great-granddaughter, Ainsley Hicks; three brothers: Ray Dennis of Independence, MO, Glen Dennis of Odessa, MO, and Lawrence Dennis of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Alice Stever of Topeka, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
