Karen Kay Easter was born on November 26, 1948 in Independence, MO. She traveled/lived in many states during the time her husband was in the military but settled in Sedalia, Mo. in 1987. Karen worked in all areas of banking before having a child and becoming a stay at home mother. She participated in school activities (sports/plays/room mother/etc.) and was very involved in church for many years teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and assisting with office work within the church. Her hobbies including writing poetry, photography, and crocheting. She loved children and took every opportunity to put a smile on the face of any child she met. Karen spent her later years caring for her parents before she could no longer care for herself due to Alzheimer’s disease. She moved into Rosewood at The Groves in Independence, MO, in August of 2017 where she died the morning of November 11, 2019.
She was preceded in death by many family members. The closest being her grandmother Eva Titsworth, her mother and father Bobbie and Deloris Lyday, her brother Randall Lyday, her aunt Marie Jarrell, her uncle Jack Titsworth, and her nephew Dennis Lyday.
She is survived by many relatives including her ex-husband, John Easter, for whom she was married over 35 years; two brothers; one sister; two sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and one son Malaki (Megan) Malloy.
