
Cosmo Charles Sprofera, 77, of Grain Valley, Missouri, went to his heavenly home Monday, August 31, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12th at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1433 NW RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO. 64015 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association or the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
Chuck was born June 6, 1943, to Pete and Frances Sprofera of Kansas City, MO. He was a career printer, having retired as a supervisor after multiple decades of work with Greystone Graphics in Kansas City, KS. Chuck had a passion for travel, the Kansas City Chiefs, other sports including golf, and a fierce love of family and friends that included his church family at Church of the Resurrection in Blue Springs. Some of his favorite moments and memories came from treasured vacations with loved ones to Italy and Sicily, where his traced his roots to his family’s ancestral home. Being able to have a winter home in Florida was also a dream come true for him.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Brenda Sprofera of the home; daughter Lisa Zeffiro, and daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Jason Pendleton, all of Grain Valley; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Michelle and Bill Shier of Higginsville and Jamie and David Salvo of Wentzville; stepson and girlfriend, Scott Newland and Mandy Lubinski of Odessa; grandchildren, Danielle Shelton and husband Adam Shelton, Kayla Zeffiro, Joseph Zeffiro and Logan, Tanner and Aiden Pendleton. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Ross and wife Brooke Shier, Shelby and husband Zach Fisher and Brighton, Will and Christian Fleetwood; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gerri Weyrauch, Bette Pittman, and Lynette Sprofera; brother, Pete Sprofera; brother-in-law, Jim Whitaker; sister-in-law, Shirley Silvey; and sister- and brother-in-law, Kellie and Nate Brown.
Chuck was predeceased by his loving sister, Anna Mae Whitaker.
Chuck did a lot of living in the years he was blessed with and didn’t waste a moment. His zest for life, iron grit and consummate independent spirit will be missed by those who knew him best.
