
Frank Fredrick Engelbrecht passed away on November 28, 2016, in Independence, MO. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO; with visitation from 1:30 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
Frank was born September 25, 1918, in Arthur, NE, the son of C.G. and Marie (Reichenberg) Engelbrecht. He was the third of five children, and his family lived on a homestead in the Sandhills of Nebraska. He was a farmer and a rancher.
Frank married Hazel Teeters June 6, 1943, in Alexander, KS. Frank and Hazel lived on their own ranch in the Sandhills, until 1952, when they moved to a small farm south of Oak Grove. Hazel died in February 1979, and Frank married Sheila Penrod in May 1980. In 2006, they sold the farm and moved to a new house. In September 2014, they moved to The Fountains of Greenbriar in Independence. Frank moved to Independence Manor in May 2016, where he resided until his death.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister. He leaves his second wife, Sheila of Oklahoma City; 2 daughters: Diana Borders of Bates City, MO, and Jennifer Orr of Liberty, MO; 3 grandchildren: Emily Latman of Lee’s Summit, Becca Holbrook of Vilseck, Germany, and Aaron Orr of Liberty; 2 great-granddaughters: Anna and Evie Latman; and sister, Marlys Harris of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
