Margaret S. Brisbin


Margaret Sue Brisbin, 83 of Independence, MO passed away September 4, 2020. Visitation will be 2-3:30p.m. Friday September 11, 2020 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Memorial service to follow at 3:30p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 215 W. Pershing Rd Ste 300 Kansas City, MO 64108. Please practice social distancing and wear a face mask.

Margaret was born May 16, 1937 in Lafayette County, MO to William G. & Alma M. (Morris) Johnson. She enjoyed spending time with her family & friends. Margaret was an avid bowler before retiring, loved collecting Elvis memorabilia as well as rooting for her favorite teams the Chiefs and Royals. She loved going to the casinos with her sisters and even had a Harrah’s group that she went with. Margaret also enjoyed camping into her later years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband James (David) in 1990; parents; sisters: Martha, Frances; brother: Roy.

Margaret is survived by sons: James Brisbin, Mark Brisbin (Pam), Matthew Brisbin (Jamie); sisters: Harriette Salley (Jim), Anna Mae Walters; brother: Glenn Johnson (Joann); grandchildren: Mark Brisbin Jr, Erin Hutching (Brady), David Brisbin, James Brisbin III, Dana Brisbin, five great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

  1. Worked with Margaret for many years at sears. We had a lot of laugh s and good times. Sorry for your lost.

  2. Sorry for your loss. I was one of many of Margaret’s casino friends. The lounges at the casino were like our country club where we would all meet, eat, have a few drinks and socialize. We had great conversation and lots of laughs. We will miss you dear, sweet Margaret.
