Linda Kay Gouldsmith, 75, of Independence, Missouri, left this life on May 11, 2018. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19th at New Salem Funeral Home in Independence. The family will greet friends after the service.
Linda was born April 9, 1943, in Independence, MO, the daughter of Dick L. and Betty J. (Bridges) Bullard. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1961 and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald L. Gouldsmith on November 23, 1961. Linda was baptized a member of the RLDS church at age 8 and was an active member of Israel’s Gathering Church of Jesus Christ until her passing. She spent many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Church School, and as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts. She enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with her husband and three sons. Linda was a member of TOPS for over 40 years. She also enjoyed crafts, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Linda was a friend to everyone she met. She touched the lives of many people with her willingness to listen and the encouragement and faith she showed.
Linda is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 56 years, Ronald L. Gouldsmith; three sons: Ron S. and wife Frances, Eric and wife Kathy, and Jeffrey; nine grandchildren: Nathan, Jared, Thomas, Noah, Zack, Sam, Truman, Holly, and Tony; six great-grandchildren; her mother, Betty J. Bullard; and sister, Barbara Basquette. She was preceded in death by her father, Dick L. Bullard, brother, Richard J. Bullard and sister, Betty Sue Bullard.
