David Allen Gum, 64, of Mayview, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.    

David was born January 26, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, the son of James R. and Patricia A. (Schenck) Gum.  He was a carpenter, working in home construction.  He loved flying remote-control airplanes, riding his Harley Davidson, horseback riding, and especially his dogs.   

David’s survivors include two brothers, James H. Gum (Virginia) and Douglas F. Gum (Janice), both of Mayview; sister, Vicki L. Davis (Fred) of Chanute, KS; son, David A. Gum II; daughter, Michelle J. Vaughn; six grandchildren: David A. Gum III, Kayleigh E. Gum, Naomi C. Gum, Kyrsten Neverdusky, Devin Mathews, and Dylan Mathews; ex-wife and mother of David, Cindy Gum of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
