Happily, Shirley peacefully passed away at home in the presence of loved ones. Shirley was born in Bagnell, Missouri and was the daughter of Francis and Doris (Boots) Caldwell. She was named after the popular child star of the time, Shirley Temple. While she was still young, the family moved to Independence, Missouri, and at age 14 she was baptized at Waldo Avenue Baptist Church. In 1956 she married the love of her life Edward Albert Hines and they remained husband and wife for 50 years till Eds passing in 2006. Shortly after marriage they were off for the Army at Ft Polk Louisiana. Shirley spent her adult life as a farmwife, homemaker and mother. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. Ed and Shirley loved to travel and spent much of their time in their 5th wheel trailer on cross country adventures. Shirley is survived by children Diane Renee Rasberry of Wyoming and Christopher Edward Hines of Georgia and by grandchildren Ryley Hines of Independence, Sophia Rasberry of Liberty, Mason Hines of Washington, DC, Madigan Hines Critell of Savannah, GA and Graham Hines of Guiyang, China.
