Betty June Huntsucker, 94, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on Saturday, April 21, 2019 at The Groves in Independence, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in Old Salem Cemetery, Independence. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Betty was born July 31, 1923 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, the daughter of George and Daisy (Scott) Kinnaman. She was united in marriage to Vernon H. Huntsucker Sr. on December 24, 1941 in Independence, MO. Betty was a member of Country Meadows Baptist church in Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed working in seek-and-find books, watching TV, reading, sewing, and being with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Winnie May Kolle (George) of Buckner; two sons: Vernon H. Huntsucker Jr of Lee’s Summit, and Philip Huntsucker (Judith) of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren: Christine (Monty), Christopher (Nancy), Curtis (Amanda), Patrick, and Marcie; seven great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Kristen, Kaylee, Karson, Nikko, Micah, and Ashlynn to be born in June. She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Laura Davis, Daisy Shields, and Jean Miller; and four brothers: Oliver, Raymond, Austin, and Roger Kinnaman.
