Helen Josephine Jordon, 90, of Sibley and later Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2nd at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO; burial in Buckner Cemetery. The family will greet visitors from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Helen’s name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Helen was born on March 14, 1927 in Atherton, Missouri, to Jack and Alice (Barrett) Oldham. She married Loren B. Jordon of Sibley on April 26, 1947. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world while her husband served in the United States Navy for over 20 years. After her husband’s retirement from the U.S. Navy, they returned to Sibley to raise their three children.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Loren B. Jordon; daughter-in-law, Leslie Jordon; and nine siblings.
She is survived by her children: Loren Chad Jordon, Nancy Terese Ford and her husband James, Debra Jean Zink and her husband Bradley; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all of them.
