Danny M. Milakovich

Danny Michael Milakovich, 64 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Blue Springs, MO, after a long battle with cancer.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th at Clancy’s Café and Pub in Blue Springs.

Danny was born December 19, 1954, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Peter Milakovich and Ovice Fowler.  He graduated in the Center High School Class of ‘73.  He was an over the road truck driver for the last 15 years of his life and was driving for Satchell Creek Express when cancer overtook him.  Danny was a larger-than-life character who touched the lives of many.  Generous and loyal to his friends, he had many friendships that spanned decades.  While we are grateful that Danny is now at peace, he leaves a hole that can never be filled in the lives of those who loved him.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, and several loved ones.

He is survived by his best friend and caregiver, M. Jill Thorne; his devoted cat Melonie who never left his side; his first wife, Toni Anders (Bill); daughter, Christina Goucher (Skip); three grandchildren:  Justin Milakovich (Jessica), Kelsi Blacksten (Anthony), and Anthony Goucher (Skylar); and two great-grandchildren: Hunter Blacksten and Harper Blacksten.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Kindred Hospice and Shangri-La Nursing Home for the exemplary care and compassion Danny received during his all too brief stay.

    Grandpa

You taught me how to love and made me so mad,

But in the end we talked and laughed about every fight we had.

I wish that you were healthy and had all your life ahead

But in the end I’ll smile ‘cause the Raiders are so bad.

I will miss you all the time but life must go on.

I’ll carry you with me always because I’m the last one

Milakovich it means more now than ever because I’m wearing if for all.

    Thanks for everything.

    We love you Grandpa
