Kelly R. Shockley


Kelly R. Shockley, 65, of Independence, MO passed away October 11, 2020.

Visitation will be 11-11:30 a.m. Saturday October 24, 2020 at Heart of God Fellowship. 3720 Buckner-Tarsney Rd., Buckner, MO 64016. Memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m.

Kelly was born December 20, 1954 in Warrensburg, MO to Sherman & Laura (Chamberlain) Shockley. He married Robin (Fifield) Cooper on October 18, 2003. Kelly always had a joke for the grandkids and a smile on his face. He managed Hi-Boy on 24 Hwy for several years. Kelly was a manager at Fast Food Merchandising for over 15 years. He worked at Central States Contracting Services as a Laborer before retiring in 2010 due to medical issues. Kelly enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father: Sherman M. Shockley; uncle William “Aus” Shockley and his beloved dog, Sparky.

Kelly is survived by his wife Robin; mother: Laura Shockley; son: Kelly Shockley (Allyssa); stepsons: Mattison Myers (Jody), James Hershberger; daughter: Suzanne Putthoff (Robert); stepdaughters: Nicole Hammond (Shawn), Natalie Cooper; grandchildren: Miranda, Rachel, Ronni, Eric, Taylor, Laurin, Mattison, Allison, Jordan, Courtney, Charlie, Kyndal, Katelynn, Hailey, Shawna, Aubreigh; great-grandchild: Marley; siblings: Larry Shockley, Cherry DeWeese, Keith Shockley (Laura Ann); dogs: Jack & Juni.

  1. RIP my cousin ! The summers I spent with my cousins Larry, Kelly, Keith and Cherry were special times and will always remain as such and never to be forgotten! Say hi to Grandpa and Grandma and save me a seat at the table!!
