Betty J. Percival


Betty Jean Percival, 82, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at New Haven Living Center in Odessa, MO. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2nd at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO.  The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m.  Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Urbana, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church or Asera Care Hospice.

Betty was born October 10, 1934, in Urbana, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Cureton) Howard.  She attended Urbana schools the full 12 years. After graduation, she worked in Wichita, and later cooked for the school board for several years.  Betty accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized.  She loved the Lord, her church and Sunday school.  Betty married John G. Percival on May 14, 1955.  She was a wonderful mother and housewife for 62 years.  Betty loved to sing and help others.  She was in a neighborhood sewing club and enjoyed gardening and planting flowers.  

Betty is preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include her husband, John Percival of the home; son, David Percival and wife Lou of Lawson, MO; 2 sisters, Karen Barclay and husband Larry of Garden City, MO and Linda Barr of Harrisonville, MO; and 6 nephews, Kevin Barclay, Aaron Barclay, John Barr, Bryan Barr, Bill Penn, and Gene Penn.
