After a courageous battle with cancer, Sherri Ann Rumbo, 51, of Blue Springs, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 27th at Royer-Hays Funeral Home, Blue Springs. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28th also at the funeral home. The family requests that donations be made in Sherri’s name to Cancer Action of Independence, MO.
Sherri was born February 25, 1965 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Loye Ray Rumbo and Sharon Kay (Martens) McMullin. She worked for the IRS for 28 years until 2016. Sherri loved Branson and going to Silver Dollar City with her family, especially with her granddaughters who she loved very much. Most of all, she was a very strong person who never gave up.
Sherri is survived by her mother, Sharon McMullin of Blue Springs; her father, Loye Rumbo (Joan) of Harrisonville, MO; three children: Michelle Winn of Blue Springs, Jeremy Dickerson (Sarah) of Independence, and Jason Brockert of New York; three granddaughters: Natasha, Nataly, and Nevaeh Winn; sister, Marsha Doty (Rick) of Pleasant Hill, MO; grandmother, Hasselteen Rumbo of Independence; three aunts: Betty Nichol (Gary) of Archie, MO, Diana Moore (Don) of Barnett, MO, and Eleanor Park (Wilbur) of Independence; cousins: Chad Nichol, Amy Cheek, Kathy Moore, Marvin and Jerry Park, Becky Pierce, Alexandria Thomas, Horace Jacob Paul, Casey Paul, Gretschen, Gibson, and Parker and Taylor Nichol.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: William Rumbo, and Henry and Wilma Martens; her Aunt Linda and Uncle Keith Franks; and cousin, David Moore.
