Charles Donald “Don” Smith, 72, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. Services will be held Thursday, April 12th at New Life Assembly of God in Oak Grove, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Union Williams Cemetery, Cole Camp, MO.
Don was born August 5, 1945, in Stover, Missouri, the son of Charles and Marie (Lawson) Smith. He was a salesman at Mid Am Truck Sales. Don loved trucks, racing, watching The Incredible Dr. Pol on Animal Planet, 4-wheeling, and spending time with his family. He was known to his close friends as “Dyno”.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Smith in 2009; and three sisters: Hazel Greife, Florie Rumans, and Genevieve Beccera.
His survivors include his wife, Patsy Smith of the home; two daughters: Sheila Stanley of Olathe, KS, and Amy Wilper (Scott) of Wellington, MO; son, Cody Smith of Oak Grove; six grandchildren: Jessica Rowland, Graysen Stanley, Ashley Smith, Adella Wilper, Abigail Wilper, and Allison Wilper; two great-grandchildren: Grace Rowland and Bethany Rowland; sister, Joyce Woolery of Sedalia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
