Donald Carl Squiers, 74, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO; inurnment in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
Don was born November 21, 1941 in Mexico, Missouri, the son of L. Carl and Lucile (VanLandingham) Squiers. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. Donald worked for 40 years as a sheet metal mechanic for TWA and American Airlines, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, having coffee in the morning with his friends, and loved watching Cardinals baseball.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane in 2001; and one sister, Carol Millard in 2006.
His survivors include two sons, Larry (Joni) Squiers of Grain Valley, and Gary (Traci) Squiers of Warsaw; four grandchildren: Trenton Squiers of Grain Valley, Tori Squiers of Grain Valley, McKenzie Squiers of Blue Springs, and Mykal Albers of Warsaw.; and his companion, Roberta Cash of Warsaw.
