
Claudine May (Corley) Tomlinson, 87, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial following in Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Heart of America Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Claudine was born on February 2, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, the only child of Claude Eight and Helen May (Burton) Corley. She attended East High School in Kansas City and graduated from nearby Northeast High School in 1949. She married Martin Leon Tomlinson on April 21, 1951 and he preceded her in death. Claudine worked as a homemaker most of her life, but she fondly recalled a brief stint as a medical assistant in the office of Dr. Gentry, who cared for Southwestern Bell Telephone employees. She enjoyed talking and sharing stories about her extended family. Claudine loved reading and never hesitated to make time to read a book to her grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Ralph D. Tomlinson & his wife, Barbara Freese Tomlinson of Baldwin City, KS; her daughter, Annette Tomlinson Stoneburner & her husband, Loren Stoneburner of Blue Springs, MO; six grandchildren: John Martin Tomlinson, Kristen Stoneburner Barbour, Monique Freese, Cassandra Tomlinson, and Lauren Weiter; as well as twelve great-grandchildren: Alex Stoneburner, Maurice Freese, Destinee Sprague, Malik Freese, Kaylee Barbour, Ariel Hicks, Laci Stoneburner, Marcel Famous, Jaycee Barbour, Lucas Hinck, TJ Barbour, and Ashlynn (Sugarfoot) Barbour.
