Gary C Wisdom, 72, of Independence, MO passed on May 5, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 9th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Gary was born February 9, 1944 in Blairstown, Missouri, the son of Cecil and Ruth (Labadie) Wisdom. He graduated from Chilhowee High School in 1962. Gary worked hard for over 40 years at Certainteed Corporation, where he eventually retired from in 2007. Over the years he enjoyed quail hunting with his beloved English Setter “Pete” and Crappie fishing. Most Saturday evenings in the summer you could find him at Valley Speedway and he hardly ever missed a Nascar race on TV. Gary had a great group of friends at “welcome inn” and “the V” and you can only imagine the tales they told up there!
Gary is survived by his brother, Don Wisdom; his son, Dwayne; daughters, Traci and Kelly; six grandchildren: Amanda, Ashley, Shawn, Zachary, Spencer and Carter; and two great grandchildren, Zoey and Melodie.
