Velma Jean Small, 80, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on April 9, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. No services are being held at this time.
Velma was born September 9, 1940, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Riley Bliss Sr. and Gertrude Mary (Francis) Fetty. She enjoyed gardening, country music, shopping on QVC, and going dancing. Velma loved to cook and spend time with her kids. She was always happy and always smiling.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings: Riley Fetty Jr., Betty Rice, Elizabeth Kramer, Corlette Berry, and Freida Lilly.
Her survivors include son, William Riley Small (Tobi) of Holden, MO; daughter, Brenda Downey (Tim) of Bates City, MO; granddaughter Cheyanna Small, step-granddaughter Crystal Tryon, and step-great-grandsons, Kale & Slade Tryon, all of Holden, MO; brother, Chuck Fetty of Helena, MT; and several nieces & nephews.
