Wanda M. Niccum


Wanda Mae Niccum age 89, of Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021. Visitation will be 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home 1823 N Blue Mills Rd, Independence, MO 64058. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4:30 p.m. Burial at 5:30 at New Salem Cemetery.

Wanda was born March 6, 1932 in Kansas City MO. Wanda drove over the road for Crete Carriers for 20 years where she was a member of the Million Miles Club, she also drove a school bus while living in Winter Haven, Florida. Wanda was women of faith and very involved with her church, loved to travel, was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and an expert wheel of fortune puzzle solver, but most of all Wanda treasured her family and embraced every moment with them.

Wanda was proceeded in death by her parents: Walter Blevins and Tressie Richardson; her son: Steven Niccum, and all of her siblings.

Wanda is survived by her sons: Michael Niccum of Arkansas, Kenneth Niccum of Southern Missouri, Russell Niccum & wife Alicia of Odessa MO. Grandchildren: Scott Niccum & wife Angie of Independence MO, Stephanie Hollaman & husband Justin of Smithville MO, Amy Snyder & husband Nathan of Wellington Mo, Sylvia Niccum of Spring Hill, Kansas, Sybil Orman of Fairway, Kansas, Jesse Niccum of Odessa MO, and Emily Niccum of Odessa MO. 8 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews.
