Alberta G. Chuning of Independence, Missouri, passed away January 24, 2015 at NKC Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28th at New Salem Funeral Home; burial in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Alberta was born near Graham, Missouri, to Orvel and Edna Winslow, on December 8, 1929. She graduated from Fortescue High School in 1947 and married Fred Chuning on May 29, 1949. The couple had 3 children born to them. She was a member of River Boulevard Baptist Church, Independence, MO. She is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; sons & daughters-in-law: Rick and Brenda Chuning of Buckner, MO, and Bob and Cindy Chuning of Excelsior Springs, MO; daughter and son-in-law: Kay and Dave Millet of Wood Heights, MO; one sister, Beverly Quimby of Mound City, MO; brother and sister-in-law: Dave and Jane Winslow of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all who knew her.
