John was born August 27, 1950 in Independence Missouri the son of Reny Edwin and Thelma May (Blake) Armstrong. He served in the US Army for 3 years and was a welder for ARI 34 years till his retirement. He was a man of many virtues who took care of many people throughout his life and always gave to those in need. John loved fishing and the river almost as much as his wife Gloria. He was a cook while in the Army and continued to cook for an army once he was home. John’s heart was bigger than his fishing storied, he enjoyed being with friends and family and playing guitar with his sons and brothers.

John is survived by his Wife Gloria, two daughters Grace Armstrong and Jody Rodgers, two sons Mario and John Armstrong, five brothers, three sisters, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and joins his cousin Junior with the Lord on the river bank fishin’.
