Richard Edward Ford, 74, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Bates City Cemetery.
Richard was born July 4, 1945, to James and Melba (Shrout) Ford of Bates City, MO. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1963. Richard worked as a union concrete truck driver. In February 1980, he married Laurina Caine and they raised four children. Richard was an avid hunter and fisherman and was most comfortable outdoors. He loved mechanic work and could always be found in his shop. Richard would do anything for his children and grandchildren and never turned down an opportunity to be helpful. He will be truly missed.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Ford.
His survivors include his wife of 39 years, Laurina; four children: Darin, Aaron, Bill, and Jana; fifteen grandchildren: Blake, Madi, Cooper, Noah, Maci, Dayton, Ciarra, Jasmine, Bella, Samantha, Katrina, Eric, Kaley, Tabby, and Billy; and four great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Duke, Emery, and Zeke.
