Raymond Eugene Groves was born September 13, 1943 in Higginsville, MO the son of Carl Milton Groves and Mildred Helen Link. As a boy he was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Ray married Etta “Penny” Lee on May 10, 1975 and worked for the Social Security Administration for 42 ½ years as a Claims Authorizer. Outside of work he was an avid model train enthusiast, he would attend shows and build models to display. At home he loved watching Jeopardy, Antiques Road Show, Football and Baseball. He was a member of St Joseph the Worker Church in Independence, MO and loved his family.

Raymond is survived by his wife Etta “Penny” Groves of Independence, MO. 2 Daughters Lisa Groves of Gardner, KS. And Laura (Dustin) Fisher of Independence, MO. 2 Grandchildren Ashley and Tanner Fisher, 2 Nephews Scott and Mitch Groves and numerous cousins.

He was preceded by his parents, and 2 brothers Jerry and Milton Groves.
