Ronald DeWayne Guffey Sr., 50, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Ronald was born on October 6, 1955, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Richard D. and Eva E. (Gibbons) Guffey Sr. He married Joy J. Purvis on July 20, 1973. Ronald was a General Contractor. He loved to fish and spend time playing with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his father in 1975, and a sister, Peggy Hammontree, in 1995.

His survivors include his wife of 32 years: Joy J. Guffey of the home; one son: Ronnie D. Guffey Jr. & his wife, Sandy of Oak Grove, MO; two daughters: Stacey L. Draper & her husband, David of Oak Grove, MO & Amy R. Arndorfer & her husband, Nick of Grain Valley, MO; his mother: Eva Guffey of Grain Valley, MO; two brothers: James R. Guffey & his wife, Jan of Odessa, MO & Richard D. Guffey Jr. of St. Joseph, MO; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Braeden, Clayton, Codi, Colton, Kierra, & Lexi; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son , brother, and friend.
