Brenda Hanavan


Brenda Hanavan, 49, of Bates City, MO, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Royer’s from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday.

Brenda was born on February 5, 1961 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of William & Barbara (Wakefield) Rodgers.  She married Michael D. Hanavan on January 14, 1978.  Brenda was the manager of the I-70 Mobile City in Bates City for 25 years.  She was a member of the Parkview Community of Christ in Blue Springs. 

Brenda enjoyed shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and taking trips to the Lake of the Ozarks with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Billy Hanner.

Her survivors include her husband of 32 years: Mike Hanavan of the home; a son: Michael Hanavan & wife Lori of Greenwood; a daughter: Barbara Hays & husband Ryan of Grain Valley; her mother: Barbara Rodgers of Blue Springs; three sisters: Rebecca Rodgers, Margaret Rodgers, & Jennifer Stone, all of Blue Springs; two brothers: Wiley Rodgers of Blue Springs & William Rodgers of Grain Valley; and five grandchildren: Alexandrea, Seth, Regan, Reece, & Michael.
