Howard Dale Lane, 85, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at St.  Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 15 at Royer funeral home, Grain Valley; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. 

Howard was born on April 14, 1923, and Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Henry and Margaret (Byler) Lane. He was a World War II veteran. Howard retired from Boeing, where he was an airplane mechanic. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Grain Valley. Howard loved gardening and attending auctions. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, traveling and playing in many competitions. 

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Eleanor Hamm, one grandson Vincent Fournier, two brothers, and one sister.

His survivors include his wife, Katherine; two grandchildren: Kimberly Martin, and Terrie Pentecost; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and many other loving family members
