Elwood E. Milligan


Elwood E. Milligan, 53, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 24th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Elwood, affectionately known as “Woody”, was born on October 24, 1952 in Independence, MO, the son of Elwood and Ruth (George) Milligan. He was an Army veteran. Woody married Terri Rector on June 6, 1981. He had worked for Platte County Ready-Mix for 25 years as a tanker driver and salesman. Woody was a local musician, having played bass for “Nashville Strait” and “Midnight Express” in the Kansas City, Independence, and Blue Springs areas.

His mother, Ruth Milligan, and grandmother, Nora Hutton, preceded him in death.

His survivors include his wife, Terri; two sons, Brandon Milligan of the home & Justin Milligan of Grain Valley; a daughter, Brianne “Bit” Milligan of the home; a granddaughter, Isabel Maria Milligan; his father, Elwood “Bud” Milligan of Pleasant Hill, MO; two sisters, Vicki Simpson of Hamilton, MO and Sheila Milligan of Clinton, MO; three nephews, four nieces, two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.

Woody was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
