Bruce Alvin Cornwell, 68, Oak Grove, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Bruce was born August 1, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Niles and Marian (Dunn) Cornwell. He had a love for trains where he dedicated 38 years at Alstom Transport (formally, Harmon Electronics) in Grain Valley as a Senior Engineer Tech. On August 17, 1974, he married the love of his life Dianna, where they welcomed two beautiful children, who were the most important part of his life.
Bruce was a man of God and was known for putting other’s first. He was the ‘fix-it’ man to any problem or difficult project that came his way. He enjoyed remodeling and fixing up his home, traveling and exploring the outdoors, spending time at the lake boating, and had a love for cars – old and new – and became a member of the Hot Wheels Car Club. Bruce also had a passion for photography and loved capturing all the memories that were being had. He poured everything into his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Niles Cornwell Jr. and Dale Cornwell; one sister, Diane Coleman.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Dianna Cornwell of the home; one daughter, Melinda Peck (Brian) of Lee’s Summit; two sons: Monte Cornwell (Jennifer) of Littleton, CO. and Jared Cornwell (Michelle) of Lone Jack, MO; one sister, Linda Resch (Bob) of Independence, MO; ten grandchildren: Dylan Peck, Mila Peck, Joseph Cornwell, Gavin Cornwell, Myra Cornwell, Brandon Cornwell, Nathan Cornwell, Tyler Cornwell, Bradley Cornwell and Madison Cornwell.
