Karen S. Motley, 57, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.  Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Karen was born on July 29, 1953, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of John and Ruth (McMillen) Jones.  She was a 1971 graduate of Fort Osage High School.  Karen married Roy Motley in May 1971.  She was the owner of a very upcoming and prosperous business, KRM Consultants, which dealt with Indian Artifacts.  She enjoyed painting and was a nature & animal lover.

Her survivors include her husband of 39 years, Roy Motley; daughter, Tina Barker and her children: Brooke Grisham, Tyler Bates, & Savannah Barker; daughter, Michelle Hootman & her husband, Jeremy; her mother, Ruth Jones; sister, Sandy Jespersen & her husband, Richard; brother, Bob Jones & his wife, Carol; her father & mother-in-law, Roy & Nellie Motley; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many stray cats.
