Mary L. Perdue


Mary Lou Perdue, 66, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.  Visitation to be held at Lee’s Summit Community Church from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019.  Funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Mary Lou Perdue was born September 2, 1953, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to John and Wanda Dodgen. She married Hal Perdue on May 1, 1982. Mary Lou worked as a nurse in Kansas City caring for others. In 1996, she accepted Christ and began living out the truths of the Bible day by day. She was a loving, gentle and sweet mother to her children Sarah (Roberts) and Luke, the favorite mother-in-law to Matt (Roberts) and Amber (Perdue), and an adored “Gram” to her grandchildren Mason, Desi (Lou), Neil, Kolby and Emersyn (Lou). Mary Lou enjoyed spending time with her husband Hal and traveling around the country with their camper visiting friends and family, and taking their kids and grandkids on special trips. When she and Hal weren’t traveling, they enjoyed many precious days in their country home. You could also find her having coffee with friends, and FaceTiming or babysitting her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Hal Perdue; her mother Wanda Dodgen; her children Sarah (Matt) Roberts and Luke (Amber) Perdue; her brother Jim (Roe) Dodgen and sister Lori (John) Downing, her father and mother-in-law Harold (Maurine) Perdue; her brother and sister-in-law Matt and Johnna Perdue; her grandchildren Mason, Desi, and Neil Roberts, Kolby Beachner and Emersyn Perdue; her sister-in-law Brenda Dodgen; and many dear nephews, nieces, and precious friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father John N. Dodgen, brother Johnnie Dodgen, and great uncle and aunt Warren and Vi Edwards.
