Jerry Eugene Wiser, 82 of Independence, MO passed away September 25, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021. Funeral service to follow at 11:20 a.m. at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Burial at New Salem Cemetery.
Jerry was born August 12, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to John & Frankie (Coen) Wiser.
He taught for the Independence School district for 30 years. Jerry also worked at Stephenson’s Apple Farm for 44 years. He was married to his wife Pearl for 62 years. Jerry was a long-time member of Trinity Nazarene Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: John & Frankie Wiser, brother: Mickey Reed
Jerry is survived by his wife Pearl; daughter: Sherrie Nichols (Nick); son: Johnny Wiser (Cindy); brother: Robert Wiser; sister: Frankie Jura; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren

2 Oct 2021I wanted to send my condolences to Jerry’s family. I taught 6th grade at Blackburn with Jerry for several years. His humor, quick wit, and good nature got our group of four teachers through many a day! It was a life gift to be able to teach with Jerry. My Dad was at Carmel Hills for awhile, so I got to catch up a little through meeting Johnny. I will be forever grateful for his mentor ship during my teaching years.
