Kathleen Vanessa (Clifford) Van Becelaere, 83 of Independence, MO passed away April 24, 2019 in Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29th at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Independence, Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Kathleen was born July 21, 1935 in Sedalia, MO to William E. & Bertha M. (Biggs) Clifford. She was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and participated in the St. Joseph the Worker Women’s Group and St. Joseph the Worker Stars-retirement group. Kathleen was also a member of the Roadrunners Square Dance Club and the Saucy Red Hatters and volunteered at Vaile Mansion. She and her husband Leonard “Lanny” received the Bishops Award in 1999. Kathleen enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Theresa Lobb & husband Michael of Shawnee, KS; 2 sons: Michael Van Becelaere & wife Beth of Omaha, NE, and David Van Becelaere & wife Esther of Kansas City, MO; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard “Lanny” Van Becelaere, her parents, and her sister.
